Windshield Queston
Does anyone know if the windshield in a 02 ZO6 is different from a standard C5? I have heard it is lighter and some other things but I don’t know. The reason is I need to replace mine for F***ING GRASS HOLE kicked up twice a golf ball sized rock into mine this morning?

Yea, it's different in that it is about 1/2 the thickness of the coupe/roadster. I would be interested to know the cost, as I'm sure a few of us will need one down the way.

It would be interesting if the independant glass shops have this as a separate listing, or will they substitute a C5 glass in a Z06? OR will you have to get it from GM and pay a premium price? :cheers:

The windshield (as noted) is thinner, and it also has the special layer which minimizes ghost imaging on the HUD. I suspect that any C5 windshield would fit, but it ought to be the HUD version ..

Any C5 with a HUD uses the special coated windshield and they are quite expensive, my previous 2000 C5 Vert had the HUD and the dealer wanted $2200 to replace, not sure if the Z06 and the Vert use the same light weight glass but they seem to cost around the same thing. Still learning

The prices for glass are outrages. Thank goodness I have insurance. A felow racer at the track has a glass shop and the "good guy" price is 900. At least it will be VERY clear until you go through a few construction sites. Ric
