The 3M mask is a clear plastic protective covering over the front nose and bumper. Also behind the wheel wells to prevent rock chips and on the painted side or front of the side mirrors. Cost ~$800 installed. Bought the car with it last year.
Yeah, we could have definitely used that last weekend! $800 is kinda expensive though, but cheaper than a new paint job

Ok, our next mod is an exhaust. Know any reasonably priced exhausts that are good? My husband likes Borla, but I don't want our car to look almost identical to his father and mother's black Z. Thanks!
Nice choice! I have the Borla Stinger and love the sound. Your foot gets a little heavy after installing them though
Ha! You mean document my husband cussing and screaming! Actually when he took his father's to a place to do his, he did 50% of the work and it turned out great.
I will make sure to document though and then post the pics online!
Candace,
They look fantastic. Pictures are great. When I had mine done here at our house, my husband was the one in front watching like a hawk while a good friend of mine installed them and the dog, well he was really excited...and me. I was on the ladder taking pictures scared to death of the change that was happening to my car. Needless to say. All turned out great!

When you wash your vette with these stripes, how hard is it to keep them from peeling? Do you just avoid the area? I'm pseudo religious on washing my vette weekly, and if i added these stripes, I'd really like to not waste the money on them if they start peeling 3-4 months down the road because of the constant attention I pay. Also wondering about waxing, same question.

Unless you trying to lift them up, just wash them parallel with the edge of stripes and you should be fine. They stick super well so unless you mean to lift them up, washing would not matter

Hi, I'm the Momma who helped install the stripes, and the designated photog (Candace was at Work then School). We've had our stripes going on 8 months. The adhesive on these stripes is very strong once it cures so washing hasn't been an issue.(always wash by hand, and in-line with the stripes). We loved the finish product. Took every bit of 4.5 hrs. to do and at times 3 sets of hands (I was soapy sponge girl, and set of hands #3). Over all, there wasn't any swearing (amazingly), and on the frustrating level meter.....I'd say 5, just because you have to make very sure they're straight and all bubbles are gone.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I was at work and then had to go straight to class. But it was a great "surprise" to come home to!
