Default Routinely clean MAF sensor ?

Howdy,

Just wondering if it is a good idea to routinely clean your MAF sensor or don`t bother or what ? I have heard of dramatic results from just cleaning it, any truth to that ? I have never cleaned mine and it is at 26,000 miles.

Thx.,

I wouldnt worry too much about it. what really hurts them is when you over-oil one of the k&n type replacement filters and the oil gums up the little wires.

if you do clean it, use a good electronics cleaner that evaporates quickly.

radio shack might have something.

I do it every now and then if I have the intake apart... but not a big deal. Every 25 to 50k would be fine.

I clean mine with every air filter cleaning...I see it as part of routine preventative maintenance. I use the aerosol product intended for MAF sensors so it leaves no residue and dries quickly.
It's your car to do with as you please...

CRC makes cleaners for MAF, TB, INTAKE, BRAKE PARTS, ELEC PARTS etc...I've used them all with no issues.
