Default Tinted Front Plate Cover

I was looking for a tinted front license plate cover, and wondered if anyone knows where I could get one? I have found many clear covers, but not any with a dark tint. If anyone has seen one, please let me know.

Thanks

I don't think any one sell them already tinted, probably have to shoot it yourself.

"VHT Nite shades spray tint for lenses/taillights."

Though I run a clear front they are illegal altogether here!

Quite a few people are using the method of painting the edges of the clear cover. Makes it blend in nicely with the front bumper.

Thanks for the feedback, it looks like I will have to consider a DIY paint job on a clear cover. Do they sell a tint paint?

Yes as Quick Silver Z pointed out, It's called "Nite-Shades" and it's made by VHT.

It's not difficult, you paint it from the inside. Just mask off the area inside that you want left clear, and completely mask the outside (so you don't get any overspray on it) Then just spray paint the inside the color you want.

But how did you get equal radius masks on all four corners ?

When you lay out the inside, mask a larger area than you want left clear, use a compass to mark the radius's and a straight edge to mark the straight lines. Make it what ever size you think looks best. I use a small metal 6" scale that die makers use but you could use anything straight. Once you have the outline of what you want clear, cut on the line with something like an x-acto knife, or you could use a single edge razor blade, if you don't have one. Then just peel off the unwanted tape.

Except I just looked for a round can that had the radius I wanted.

Make sure the edges of the tape are down tight before you spray and do multiple light coats so as to lessen any seepage back under the tape.

That's actually the easiest way, to just find a can or drinking glass, shot glass or something with the radius that you want.

Can you get a better closeup shot without the shadows? I would love to see how this looks in a sunlight situation.
