Hi. i just purchased a 2000 C5 i wanted to know if the driver and passenger seat foam were interchangable or not? The drivers seat bottom is hard and uncomfortable and i would rather pass that burden onto the passenger. Any help or pictures on how to do it is greatly appreciated thanks.
How bad is it? My cushion was worn and the leather was cracking, so installed Wet Okole seat covers. They look great and there is about a half inch of padding sewn into them. The seats in my 2000 have never felt so comfortable.
Leave the pax seat alone, just order a single seat cushion set or even better if your back is ok just the bottom. Its not that expensive and your only tearing apart one seat.
I haven't changed the foam but I've stripped the seats down. Its a reasonably long job. For $90 for a replacement seat base - and you'd get a better discount from the forum dealers - I'd buy a new one and save further hassle.
There is a difference in price between the two seat foam bottoms, as well as for the holes mentioned above for the trim pieces to fit. I don't know why there is a difference in the price; maybe it's thicker or reinforced in some way. I would think the passenger seat foam would be in better condition than the drivers seat. Why do you want to replace the passenger seat foam?
