2001 zo6 with memory drivers seat. Yes i did use the search feature and didn't find exactly the answer i need.
When i get into my car, i manually adjusted my seat the way i liked it, held Memory until i blinked, but when i leave and then get back into my car, i have to physically push memory for my seat to go into it. Meaning that everytime i get into my car my seat motor will have to be used. Is there any way to program my memory to where its ALWAYS in my memory 1 position? Just want to prolong the life of my seat motor..
On your dash you will see a button that says options. Cycle through the options until you come to, if I remember right, drivers seat. You can cycle through and make changes you want. Hope this helps or at least guide you in the right direction. i am out of state and not by my car
One other thing, you have to use the remote to unlock the car before the memory will work, not just open the door, plus, it waits till the key is in the ignition before it goes to to its memory position. Some people don't think its working right, but mine goes up about halfway, then when the car starts it goes the rest of the way to its memory position.
PS If you don't like it, you can turn off the seat going back thing, but can leave it on for the number #2 key fob, incase your significant other has a lot different seat position than you.
i wont be in the car again until friday but i'll deffinately try to turn it off in my dic. I just don't think the seat motor needs to run every time i get into the car ya know.
thanks for the help guys, it doesn't really explain that in the manual

i had the memory seat thing in my auto coupe... was nice. dont have it in the z and I miss it. I dont miss how long the seat took to move back. sheesh. nice car BTW
I have had 11 years experience with C5s. You should leave the seat go back every time you exit the car. It is part of the proper procedure for entering the car. Unless you are a very small person you need as much room as possible to get your butt down in the seat. The closer the seat bolster is to the steering wheel the more likely your butt will be constantly hitting the bolster and causing it to wear out. The early cars that had leather on the bolster could get a rip in the upholstery within a few days of delivery due to improper entry.

i hear what your saying but whats a tear in a seat cost vs a new power seat motor? eventually one or the other is going to wear out ya know.

Do you not roll your windows down either to save the window motor? Sometimes things that get moved often last longer than things that never get exercised. Keeps the lubricant spread out on the parts and soft. Haven't read of any seat motor failures, but the manual recliner and air support bladders and pumps, yes.
