Hey Rich...Sounds like we gotta lot in common....Dont know how you retired from law enforcment at less than 34 yoa though....I gotta go til Im 55....but it sounds like we BOTH love our Corvettes and our TUNES!!...Here's a pic of the system I installed in my 99 Coupe..Not quite the 1700 watts you have...but close at 1500...driving two 8" square Solo-barics....With the cover in place you dont even know it's there...Until you crank it up of course!!!!....I also wired in a remote volume control for the amp, kept in my center console....

Same here, I can here it coming from my stereo speakers. I noticed when I turn on a turn signal the hum goes up and down from my stereo speakers. My electrical system is stock, wonder if a noise filter would help?
