^ That's why I said wheels and mufflers **** man I have it all planned out Callaway Honker intake, B&B fusion mufflers, tuned (they seem to make just over 400 rwhp with an intake and tuning), then some full polished CCW classics because I love them and nobody puts classics on a C6 because they only come up to 18s.

^kidding himself again To the OP. I have driven all of them. In this sucky *** trafiic around here there are days I would love an auto paddle shift C6 as a daily driver. I used my C5Z for a daily driver for almost a year. I love the Z period. The looks the power the feeling the sound. I would give it up for a C6Z though. The LS7's power is just addicting. If you know you are going to mod the hell out of it then again the C5Z would get you into a great car at a low price and then let the fun begin. If you like an open air car then the C6 is the way to go. As many have said a lot of choices, but at least your looking at the right cars Good luck on your choice. Don

^ You're right... a cam and headers would eventually go in, as would an MCM hood with a carbon center.

Yeah then the AIR system gets ripped out then the harness bar and belts get added then bam right back where you were

The Jet Stream is starting to grow on me. What do you think the paddle shift would run like with 3:42's added? Anyone you know of change gears yet?

Default C5z Vs C6

I too am biased towards the C5, cause the C6 looks too much like a concept waiting to come into its own. The C6 Z is a great car beacuse of the 505hp, wheels AND EXCLUSIVITY. If it had 400hp, nobody would talk about it. The Z version of either car is to say, I want the performance version of this car (unfortunately the C6Z is more $$$$).

When you show up at a golf course one day and a 80yr old man is getting out of his maroon C6 convertible, you will wish you had the C5Z( Nothing against the elderly, but remember, that same guy drives a Cadillac STS in the winter, would you?) I say this b/c you come from an STI, which is hardly a Cadillac.

If you would rather drive a Subaru Legacy over an STI, then buy the C6
If you would rather buy an STI then a Legacy, buy the C5Z.

I vote for the C6 with Z51.

1. newer with warranty
2. New body style
3. Nav and on-star rule
4. Power wise the C5 Z06 has no advantage over a LS3 405 vs 427?
5. You can always put on C6 z06 shocks or koni fsd for a better ride
6. For a DD the new C6 have more creature comforts

then look at it this way $25k will get you nice Z06 these days 02-03
you will save $20k going the older C5 Z06 if you can live without warranty , nav, on star and the looks of the old model go for the C5.

either way you cant loose!

I think that's only on the power train ... rest of the car is the standard 3 yr/36K mile warranty. But yeah, a warranty of any kind is good to have.

C6s don't have AIR And no track BS as we have the Panoz now.

From what I've seen browsing in the C6 forum guys are running high 11s w/o gears! Some 3.42s would be awesome.
