Default LG Pros vs LG Streets

For your average Vette that doesn't race or go FI is the extra cost of Pros really worth it? How about if you go with a mild cam and head upgrade?

I don't know the answer, but I'll tune in to see what comes around on this one...

Kooks run $500 cheaper and are virtually the same. LG is over rated IMO.

Streets are good if that is all you are doing is headers if you are doing other mods I would go with the pros to get the max out of your modding

Streets here. I just couldn't justify the xtra $$$...used what I saved for a good Tune. No regrets.

LG Pros are by far and way the most powerful header. Many many independent tests. Now that said, they are also VERY VERY LOUD.

I bought a set of LG Pros slightly used. The guy wanted the best and strongest header out there. Then once he put them on did not realize how loud they were and took them off.

Unless you love to listen to heavy Metal music VERY VERY LOUD in your car all the time or you vette is a only race car, not street car or DD, there are many other great choices

Sounds like you already know LG is the best, given that, this is really simple.......
If $$$ is an issue....go with the streets, if not get the PRO's.

I too think they maximize my other mods, H/C etc......but as AU N EGL said, they are loud.
Apparently not enough for me though, I put B&B PRT behind mine and now I R e a l l y LOVE 'EM

LG Pro headers make the most power, as far as I have seen. The street headers are no better than Kooks or ARH, in my opinion.

A bolt-on car really has no need for the Pros (again, my opinion). I'll be buying ARH.

My car dynoed 342rwhp & 360rwtq with a Vararam,LG Streets and Ti exhaust. Tune added a big fat 0 to the numbers. Now would I have gone with LG Pros to get that extra 5rwhp...Heck no!

Now if you are planning on adding Heads/Cam or FI, I'd go with Pros so that you can fully benefit from the added mods.

Hi stormrider -

I went with the pro's because I plan on a head/cam setup in the future.

As stated, if you are not planning further mods then the streets would likely be a good choice.

I echo the sentiments of KidShalene - if you can afford them, get the pros, if the price difference is a big player for you, go with streets or something else.

I wanted the best on my Z.

Here is a clip of my Z at the drag strip:

http://www.iammoon.com/vids/cordova_..._oct202007.MPG

In regards to the "loudness" of the headers, I have stock Ti's and no cats, and my car is not objectionable loud to me, nor has my wife ever mentioned that my car was objectionably loud.

It is a little louder than it was stock, but not to the point I wake up the neighbors etc.

best regards -

mqqn

Default Go with the long tubes and your good

LG PROs are proven to make the most hp & tq. If your going with headers and are going to spend the money for the parts / labor and /or
a tune, put on the Pro's. They come with a full 3" stainless x pipe also built by BORLA. Do the other headers come with this ? I have them and would buy them again in a minute. LG seems to have the killer combinations for power and driveability.

So far I've done a BW CAI, LG Streets w/hi flow cats/x-pipe with TI's at the back, love the sound , dynoed at 327rwhp/335rwtq, but in June installing LS6 heads/LS6 intake/Z06 cam, 30lb fuel injectors, UD pulley, it's going to be interesting to see what the numbers change too, I'll let you guys know.

umm....wouldn't it really be determined by whether or not your running cats and also I would think your muffler choice would also make a HUGE difference.

When I put my streets on, my car was just way too loud for a DD with my Corsa Pace Car mufflers. But after I have put on my Tourings....my car is almost near stock sounding while just cruising and at idle. Only when you get on it hard, does it get a little loud. But nothing overwhelming.
