For those of you who are going to show up and need a point of contact number, pm me and I'll give you my cell number.

The exit number for Highway 53 and Cracker Barrel is exit 49 off of I95. I failed to mention that earlier.

Default Has any of the vendors donated?

I need some parts and it would sway my decision on who I buy from.

I think today could be best summed up as a smashing success. We had 15 cars show up if I counted correctly. There were 6 Vettes, 1 Lamborghini Gallardo, 1 Viper, 1 Mustang, 2 Camaro's, 1 Firebird, 1 Cavalier, 1 Ford truck (both nicely painted), and one beautiful Red GTO that was a family favorite. Every one was amazingly gracious. The group also brought $750 in contributions. So the total for contributions so far is $2,750.

Of course Alli wanted to ride in the Gallardo (so did I) and she did great. We planned the route around how she felt and she was a trooper so we kept on going. My wife was a traitor and rode in the Viper but I guess I don't blame her. It was an amazing looking car. The whole family rode and loved it. A big thanks goes out to the family members of the drivers that sat out to make room for Alli's family. I know it is a memory they will never forget. We took alot of pictures and video that will be up soon.

I really can't say enough about the car community and everyone on this site and others that showed up or sent support in one form or another. The family was litteraly speachless for a minute and couldn't stop thanking me and every one else later.

I got to spend some time with Alli and the family after every one else left and their strength is heart warming and inspirational. She is truly remarkable. I am going to get my car up and running and take her out again as soon as I can. I feel like I have all the time in the world but in reality I don't. That is the truly hard part to deal with.

For those that wanted to contribute by check. I have a name and address for you now. Please PM me and I will give it to you. I will also go back throught the posts and try to find the people that wanted to give by check and PM you. This is not over by a long shot. So please keep Alli and her family in your hearts, thought, and prayers.

I would like to thank every one involved in today. I would especially like to thank three people that I have failed to mention untill now. My wife did alot of back side support on this one. From taking care of the kids to fee up my time, to running all over town getting the cards, shirt, fake check that she made her self and every thing else she did. You are truly a saint. And James Gaston "Red_04_GTO". He put out alot of posts on different sights and really initialy picked up the ball on this one. Leslie "wmvettesgirl" She brought this family to my attention. She has a heart of gold. I don't know how she does this day in and day out. Just this one experience for me is so emotionly taxing that I can only deal with one right now. This is Leslies job and passion. She seeks people in these situation out and provides all the help she can. I would also like to thank 50th@50, Njvette, and every one else from the bottom of my heart. This was a huge group effort. It took all of us to make it happen.

Brett

I wish I had seen this sooner, but I still sent my $20.00

Reading Pray's account of the day brought tears to my eyes, and fond memories of a week I spent in NC 2 summers ago at a special camp for kids like Alli. It was one of the most rewarding weeks of my life because every single one of those kids got to feel like a regular kid and forget about being sick, and their families didn't have to worry about paying for it!
