Service Colomn Lock
My newly purchased 2001 vette has been displaying "service colomn lock" on the digital readout under the gauges. Yesterday the car wouldn't start, as though I wasn't pushing in the clutch. Plenty of volts, yet no cranking. The dealership told me to unplug the battery to reset the computer, because apparently it has something to do with a security interlock. Are these issues related? If so, what is the estimated cost and time off of the road?

Purchase and install the CLB from a Corvette's of Houston and your problem will be over. Do not trust the recalls that GM does because they simply do not work. I have been down that long and bothersome road.

column lock
I did everything that could be done. Took it to Dealership spent $300.00 and still had the problem. Had to have it towed 2 times. Got Column Lock by-pass from supporting vender $50 two years ago no more problems. Same the time and $$$$ get the by-pass. check out the sticky at top of fourm for weights will give you a lot of info about your new car. Good Luck
