I'm looking for opinions on coolant. In the past I have never really worried about which coolant I put into my vehicles. I'm getting ready to change the coolant in the Vette and am wondering if using factory recomended Dexcool is the only way to go.(I don't feel like making a special trip to the stealership) Any thoughts? Thanks.
That's pretty scary stuff, Trickflow! I've had no trouble with mine, but I'm at my 5 years, and need to change my coolant any time now, so I'm wondering if there'd be anything wrong with switching to something else. Anybody done that?
It looks like our LS1's are not involved with this problem, especially if the coolant hasn't been run low for 20,000 or more miles. Just make sure to use distilled water, keep it full, and have fun......
Thanks for the replies. I picked up some Dexcool right at NAPA. Had I know it was available at parts stores I never would have posted! I even bought distilled water and will be doin it by the book. Thanks again. I love this place!
