I just checked my rear view "mood" lights and yes, there are yellow and blue lights under there, but as far as I can tell, there is not a sliding lens.

#17 on a 98 Coupe is in the left compartment on the right side. It is just a little dent.

I see three lights under mine.

1) In the center is the "mood LED".

2) On each side are the interior light LEDS. This is a cluster of 3 LEDS : (Orange ; Green ; Orange)

There are no movable lenses to change colors.

When the passive FOB is not being moved, it "sleeps" after a certain amount of time (not sure how long) to preserve the battery. If it is locked inside the car, the car will loose contact with the passive FOB when it sleeps and autolock the car. Shaking the car, with the FOB still inside, will activate the mercury-switch (not sure if it's an actual mercury switch, but the function is the same), the car will then see the FOB and recognize it as being within range of the car.... the doors then unlock.

But if you are like me, I turned off my passive remote and my autolock feature. The only way to lock/unlock my car is with the buttons inside the car, or the FOB itself.

Well THAT makes sense - thanks, Defender! Everyone else, if you find something interesting (OEM) about your C5 that is generally not common knowledge, post it here and maybe we can get the list to be a sticky.

Yep that is exactly what happens, I found out the hard way on my C4 which had the passive feature when I left the keys in it while I was washing it.

Default #23 reset competetive mode

I had heard about pushing the reset button while in competetive mode to put the DIC into normal display mode. This doesn't work with my '03. It turns the traction control back on. This cost me an embarassing moment, Went to get a little enthusiastiic drift thinking the traction control was off, Started steering in expectation of a drift, all I got was a hook and launch, along with a "you idiot" look from momma. Afterwards I had to go rip brodie in a deserted parking lot to prove it for myself
