You could easily tell if you had your bumper from new kept out of the elements, say you had a different nose bumper installed, then compared it after the vehicle was in the sun a lot during the years. It will fade. It's mostly present in the hood, trunk, tops of fenders rather than the sides and door panels.

With proper car, any fading should be minimal. But, not saying it couldn't happen.

I took front bumber to body shop with paint code and had it painted. They never saw the car. Put it on and it matches origional 1999 paint very well.
