Extra Key

How many people carry an extra key?
I carry one in my wallet just in case.

Had to pick up a neighbors extra key from his wife and take it to him yesterday as he lost his set of keys.
I learned this the hard way years ago.

I do not, in 44 years of driving I've never lost my keys or locked them in the vehicle.

Me and the puppy went to the corner store once and I left the car running for the dog ,it was hot out side and the A/C was on,well the puppy stepped on the door lock and I had to walk home for a spare key.Now there is one in my wallet.

If you make a copy of your C5 ignition key on a standard key blank (without the resistor chip), it will open your car door BUT not start the car. This "door key" can be hidden outside your car (one person taped it under his back license plate, then he only needs a philips screwdriver) without fear that someone can find it and steal your car. Great if you lock your key inside the car.

I had one made at Lowe's for a buck, (without the pellet, just for the door) and put it in a magnetic box and stuck it on the frame at the back. Doh! I mean, no.
