I was told that the state of california has mandated that all agencies enforce this regulation. They are now looking to stop violators and issue a traffic citation.
I do not know what is behind all this, what the purpose is and what benefit will be realized from this effort. Some say with all the photo enforcrmrnt of violations they want the vehicle, plate and drivers image in the photo a evidence.
I will grudgingly comply.
By the way I was in my Infinity M35 but this means a plate on the vette as well. Any suggestions as to the best looking way to attach the plate.
Bummer.
I haven't gotten a ticket yet (knock wood) but I don't have a plate on the front either, which is required in Missouri.
I'd be interested if anyone find a nice looking way to attach the front plate. And, any suggestions on how to get the plate cover off the front bumper.
Come on, guys, this is getting old. If it's the law in your state, quit complaining and start complying. If you show your car, you can always put on the blanking plate for the smooth look.
Check out this link with pictures. It'ss about wheels, but the pictures show his plate mod. He took a clear plastic plate cover and painted it to match the car, leaving a small rectangle for the plate numbers. I think its the coolest solution.
Just another reason I run personalized plates on everything I own....Kinda defeats the purpose of getting personalized plates if youre not gonna run them on the front too....
.....Besides, 'bout the time this fella put HIS "foot down" on my Vette we'd have us a little problem......so it's just best that I comply with Colorados front plate law

Told by who? I doubt there is a "crackdown" on front plate violators. All agencies can enforce the regulation anyway.
I agree the law is silly, but it's still the law unfortunately. The only use I've seen for no-plate stops is probable cause on a suspicious vehicle for a bigger offense (drugs, weapons, warrants etc).

The leo who wrote the ticket told me.
Used to be they would give it to you if they pulled you over for some other reason. Now it looks like they will stop you just for no plate.
Most all So Cal Vette owners "DO NOT" have a front plate.
Looks like it will change, at least for me, cause they can find at least a few more fix it's if they start looking around and under the hood and I'm not wanting that.

Thanks for posting the link. I remember seeing that one and that is a good idea, but I'm not sure if it is legal in CA
There is a C6 swing out Licence plate holder you can get, it swings out and folds up when on display and hides under the front fascia when not in use... i have the TigerShark front end waiting to be installed. i plan to get this and just leave the plate under the fascia, if you get pulled over tell the cop "ohhh sorry i thought it was out" then hop out and fold it up.. no ticket and you can just fold it back up later.

Its the simpiliest of traffic violations that a lot of officers stumble into some really big arrests!
