Vararam causing SES light?

. I wasn't sure if the filter was pre oiled, so I called to ask. After they assured me it was, they also asked if I taken the NEG Battery cable off. I told them no, and the reason that I didn't was because I didn't want to lose all of my system parameters in my stereo. I know I'm not the only one who dreads loosing power to their car, --it resets everything that you don't want to be reset. In this case he assured me it was necessary, and I understand. I did take the cable off for about 20 minutes and put it back on before I went to drive. I don't think that was long enough though.
While I was driving, the car was acting aweful at first but it did get better. After a little while though I got the SES light and I have absolutely NO acceleration
. Once I get the car up to speed, it will pull pretty good in the top end, but nothing down low. He told me that the Neg terminal needed to be removed for at least 2 hours so that the computer could completely clear. I took it loose before I came in, and I will re-attach it before I go to work in the morning. That should be long enough for it to get it's ducks back in a row.
When I sart driving in the morning, what do I do if I get the SES light? Will it eventually go away once the computer re-learns? If so, How long will this take? I will probably drive about 30 miles tomorrow, so will that be enough?
I have no doubt it just isn't back in line yet, and that's cool. I'm just wondering if I am doing everything right...
Thanks
My bellows air coupler had a kink in the underside where it coupled to the throttlebody that was letting in air that bypassed the MAF.
Check for air leaks that could bypass the MAF
