hello everyone..
i have an 02 and my side marker clearance lights are dull.. I purchased new ones from GM but have NO idea how to get in there to swap em' out..
any ideas from anyone?? has anyone ever tackled this??
thanks for your help!
Front or rear.
Front, remove the bezel from around the lights.
Remove the hood adjustment if your arms are like mine so you can get your arm in.
Remove the 194 socket from the bumper llens (twist and pull)
Remove old bulb.
Put in new bulb.
Push in and twist till it stays in place.
Replace bezel and hood adjuster.
Rear
Remove outermost tail light.
Stick arm down to sidemarker light and unscrew the nut.
Take lens off from outside.
Twist and remove 194 socket from the lens.
Replace bulb.
Place back in lens.
Put back in place with arm through outermost tailight hole.
Replace tailight.
actually i am replacing the whole light assembly- not just the bulb.. i am wondering if you have to take off the tire/wheel and remove the black backing and get to it that way...
I have to say that this is the one job I'd go in from below. I normally change parking lights by removing the headlight bezel but taking out the bottom panel will let you see the unit better.
If you take it out you'll see the springs and fastners that keep the unit in place . Once you have it out it'll make sense.
