Granted the mileage is extremely low but,it's overpriced.I agree with
the others about shooting for an '03 or '04.The market is for sure
in your favor,Good Luck
I've had none of the problems I had with other convertibles I've owned. With the roof up, the car is quiet. The finish is good and its easy to forget its a soft top. I don't have any squeaks and the fit is tight with no leaks.
The manual mechanism is excellent. Once you find the little button that drops it, its a 10 second operation. Its a bit of a pain that the windows drop every time but a window valet fixes that. The up side of that is that most verts dont suffer from window relay problems because the module is used regularly.
I clean and reproof mine about once a year and its still looking good.
The only down I can think of is that there are some blind spots around the 4 and 8 o c'clock with the hood up. Makes it a tad tricky on lane changes in reduced visibility . The mirrors are good so its easy enough to cover that problem.
Overall I love mine. I didnt think I could affords the extra for the Vert. Glad I found the $$. Best decision I ever made.
DeeGee hit it on the head with all of these comments in my opinion. I solve the blind spot problem with that long pedal under my right foot... hehe.
For price comparison I bought my 2000 for $25k not too long ago with ~36k on the clock. I would guess that many on here would say I over payed. However, the car was local, in great shape, had a receipt for literally everything ever done to it and I fell instantly in love with it. Keep in mind that price is subjective and relative. Good luck, whatever you decide to do I highly recommend the Vert!!!
I agree the price is a bit high, particularly in light of the very soft market now with the steep rise in gas prices and the general economic uncertainty. I bought an original owner, garage queen 1999 Z51 mag red /black vert in beautiful condition with 19,600 miles and every option on it a year ago for $22,250. The price is a little deceptive, though, because it had a cracked front window I had to replace and the tires only had about 7500 miles left on them. The vert is worth having. ...great fun. Good luck.
I bought my 2000 vert with low miles for $30k 4 years ago. I got a very good deal at that time, however, it seems that this car is WAY overpriced. Good luck, Ron
Hello USFBULL, You will love the Vert. I have a 98 and have had no problems with it. It also was a Garage Queen when I bought it. Good Luck with your decision. Also, I noticed that you were going to have it shipped to Dayton, Ohio. We have a really great Forum group that meets monthly in the Dayton area. Check out Event forum Great Lakes if interested.
30K no way. I did my shopping around and found a very well kept 99 vert and with 40k odo and paid only 15k for the car. Prestine or not, that dealer has definately marked up the price on that vert to garnish himself a nice commission. However, it's your money, do what makes you happy....remember, you could always save the extra $$ you'd pay at the dealer and use it towards mods. the fever will hit you once you buy...beware of the mod bug!!!!
I am kind of partial to verts as I have a red 96 and yellow 00 vert and love them!! That price seams a little high, but compaired to what I paid for my 00 MY vert every price is high. Good luck.
It seems very high. I just ( 2 months ago) bought a 2001 convert. with Borla exhaust, new Toya tires, new battery, all fluids recently changed, special floor mats, special trunk mats, new ceramic brakes all around, new (2) serpentine belts and some more goodies. Also the build out specs include every option available for this car when it was purchased.
It was a steal at $20,000. Oh yea- 35,000 miles. KBB and Edmunds and NADA put it at leat $5,500 more. My local specialty shop, Corvette Mike's has 2 , same year, at $29,500.
So just shop around a little moe. My 2 cents worth!
I have a 2000 vert with all the options that I wouldn't sell to you for30,000. If the right car is more important to you than than the extra bucks go for it. Before I bought mine, I looked for a long time to find that special one that met all of the criteria. I have never been sorry I paid to much, and I have never been surprised.
I personally dont see a big deal in getting a 2000 vs a 2004 as long as they have close to the same miles...If you like the 2000 go for it....Buying a 2004 isnt going to gain you anything unless you plan on getting rid of it, as it more than likely will have a higher resale value......Keep in mind both cars will be out of factory warranty.....There is very little, if ANY difference between the 2000 and 2004 model years......Hell, I sold my 2002 QS Vert with 60K miles and turned around and bought a 99 triple black Vert with 40K miles for 10K less money...Both cars were equipped the same (BSMs, chrome wheels, HUD, auto w/3.15, 12 disc, etc)........Do I notice a difference in the 99 vs the 02???....Nope, not other than the fact it's black whereas my 02 was silver...and the transaction pocketed me $10K which softened the blow of buying my new C6 Z-06...Well, actually it only pocketed me $8K as I had to dump about $2K into the 99 Vert to get it up to my standards...

Yep, I turned down an offer of $28K for my 40k mile 99 triple black Vert last Saturday at a car show...I bought the car this March for $23K, but I have dumped about $2K in it getting it up to my standards....Still, I could have made an easy $3K, but then I'd be hunting for another triple black 99 Vert to match my black 99 Coupe.....
I have a 2002 fully optioned vert with 20,000 miles. I think I would be lucky to get $30k for it. It has new tires, 12 CD changer, and some minor mods (no engine mods). Not sure how easily it would be to sell at $30K. A 2000 with fewer miles I think should be around $28K.
I checked into prices a few weeks ago because I am considering a 2009 purchase.
