I posted this on the tech forum also but have not had any response. I have an '03 coupe without telescoping steering column. I have to put the seat all the way back for my legs to be comfortable but then the wheel is too far away. Is it reasonable to consider swapping out to a telescoping column? Are telescoping columns available? Is it cost prohibitive? I would do the work myself. Any input is appreciated.
to change over to a telescope unit requires the Memory seat function. To get the memory seat function requires a ton of parts (2 door moduels, 2 mirrors, oodels of wiring harnesses, seat moduels, and a PCM to match)

I'm with ya, if I didn't have the telescoping wheel I wouldn't even remotely be able to enjoy driving my car. I keep my seat all the way back and telescoped all the way, it's perfect for me. That's one of those deals where you really regret not paying for an option up front because of how difficult and costly it is to do it after the fact, although the memory option wasn't cheap at all from the dealer. It did come with a lot of other niceties that I like though besides the telescoping wheel. It's especially handy if you have a spouse or anyone else that occasionally or frequently drives the car.
