Default Carpet Wet

For the second time I left my 01 coupe sit out in the rain and the drivers carpet is wet. The water isn't getting in over the door threshold so I can only guess that its coming from somewhere deeper in the foot well. The windscreen cowling seems to be tight so where's it coming from and how do I stop it. Living in Florida, we do, on rare occasions, get tremendous downpours and I don't like setting up a drying fan in the garage everytime this happens.

OK, I removed the cowling and can find no obvious breaks in the sealed edges underneath. I checked the 3 drains on the drivers side and the one on the passenger side and all are completely clear & clean. I've eliminated the AC drain box as the culprit in that I rarely use my AC and the wet carpet only shows itself after a rain storm. I set up a garden hose to spray over the drivers side without hitting the wiper motor, covered the drivers foot well with newspaper and still see no leaks.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Have you checked your cowling drain udders to see that they are clean?

Need to 'milk' them every now and then to get the crud out so that they drain properly.

My leak was at the joint between the top seal and the front window seal. It did not leak every time it rained so it was baffling until one day it rained with me in the car and I saw the water streaming down on the inside of the glass. Fixed the seal and has not leaked since.

You mentioned the "front window seal". I'm hoping you don't mean the windshield seal. I drenched the top, bottom and sides of my windshield and still haven't replicated the leak. I'm thinking its coming in via the drivers door seals. Next time it rains I'm going to cover the drivers well with newspaper in an attempt to find this leak.

Make sure that water isn't getting on the BCM or a wet carpet will be the least of your problems.

Default Found the leak - huraah

For the benefit of other forum members that run into this I thought I'd let y'all know I found the source of the water intrusion into the drivers carpet. I purchased my 01-C5 coupe about 6 months ago from a 73 year old friend/neighbor who rarely drove the car. He was the second owner and the car came with a number of add-on the first owner put in.
One, in particular, was door sill protectors. I noticed that when the car sat in the rain the driver's side protector accumulated water under it. In that I couldn't find a leak anywhere around the cowling, drain holes, windshield, etc. I suspected the door seals may be the problem. I removed the protectors and, lo & behold, the carpet was bone dry after the next cloud burst we had here in Central Florida. I suppose the door seals don't mate quite tight with these plastic protectors and the water leaches up under the curved plastic molded threshold and into the carpet.

Thanks for the follow-up. Never thought of that, just in case it ever happens to me.

Sorry, the leak is at the drivers window, at the top were the removal top and the windshield drivers side molding meet. The water would come into the car at the top and run down the inside of the car down the door to the carpet. It would not always leak and the way I found it was it rained with me inside of the car and I saw the leak. It had leaked several times before and I thought the leak wqas from some were else until I saw it. The seals all looked like they would seal, but of course did not.
