My garage is 131.5 inches wide. That's just short of 11 feet. I have no problem getting in and out of the C5. I've never had a problem with the passenger side, either. I just have to take a little care when exiting. I could put a pad on each wall, but it's really not necessary.
That said, I don't think I'd let a child open either door, since they may not have the dexterity or will to prevent an accident.

All these big garages make me jealous. I just moved into a new place with a garage for a change and its only 130" wide inside. Just barely enough room maybe. I want a Vette so bad!!
A better question to help me is how much width do you need with only one door partially open (first notch)?

Hmmm...that means you'll have 0.75 inches less on each side than I do. You should still be fine. You'll just need to hold the door a little when you enter and exit. Not a big deal.
There will be a few limitations. The car door obviously won't stay open on it's own, nor will you be able to vacuum the interior without risk of damage. Still, I've never had a problem waxing the car or even doing some minor mods in that space.
The actual opening of my garage door is 105 inches.
I think the car is going to fit. Post photos when you buy it!

In central NY you are lucky to find a garage that is more than 20X20.
A lot of them are 19X20 with one corner angled off where entrance comes into the home.
No t large in my standards but, that's the way they build them. (CHEAP)
Time to fill that sucker up!!!!.......I have enough vehicles to fill one like that, but if I built it Id have to sell some of the vehicles to afford it!!!!...Guess I'll hafta keep letting our DDs sit outside

One of our club members has a supercharged 04 yellow Z06...personalized tags...FASTAXI
The C5 was my first yellow car-ever. They're kinda of growing on me-the 74 is an L82/M21. The "ford" I always thought was a quick car-425hp but the C5 would definitley blow it in the weeds. I like his plate-I got stuck with the govenor's old plate 00001. But to answer the original question 24x24 will give you plenty of room to get in and out of.
i built my own house and garage so not alot of $$ in it.
you must be playing on the dark side to be able to afford all your toys on a cops wages... my doors are 8 ft tall
Not a lot in it??....My brother-in-law is a custom home builder...he does a lot of work with brick....There's a fortune there!!!
and "Dark side" you say???..HARDLY...Ive worked TWO jobs for the past 20+ years....My wife works too....as far as my toys....theyre all paid for except the SSR and C6 Z-06....and lets not forget Im probably 20 years older than you are and no kids at home...and as far as my house...

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
