Default factory transaxle overfill....
The myth is correct.. some of the Z06's appear to have been overfilled from the factory..

had some fluid drip in the garage from the rear transaxle.. took it in to the dealer.. bingo.. overfilled..

good thing it was an easy fix!

Yep, my '02 was definitely overfilled by the factory by a lot. I would say 1/2 a quart over full. Once I drained it to the proper level, it stopped leaking from the output shaft.
