After i purchased the new set of tires (goodyear eagle F1 GSD3s) took it to the Sears and had an alingnment ..and i noticed that the car was pulling right(slightly but it was still there) ,took the car back and asked them about that ,they told me they did the alignment properly but i wasn't convinced so i 've got full refund and took my car to the local chevy dealership ..service guy looked at the print out told me the alignment is fine ,took the car out for a test drive and said "car is slighlty moving to the right , it might be road crown .. i wouldn't bother" .. he also told me that he had a mustang and his car is doing the same thing ..is that really normal? the reason i'm asking you is b/c i drove the wife's car (subaru impreza)on the same exact road and it seemed like it was going straight unlike my Z...is it because i got wider tires and it makes that road crown pull more obvious?then again it's not pulling like crazy but it's so annoying..thanks in advance
Road crowning can definately cause what you are describing..... wider tires amplify the condition. I would find a freshly paved section of road that is flat (some roads pitch down slightly from the center for run off). If the problem persists I agree that the car should be taken to a performance shop for a full alignment.
You have had two alignments done by people who don't know what they are doing. There is a way to adjust caster that will not affect your steering and you will never notice it, but it will counteract the drift you describe due to road crown. My car will go hands-off straight down any road.
hi i've got an 03 Z06 , i set my tire pressures based on factorys specs(33psi all around)..and yes i checked my tires pressures and they're fine..i forgot to mention that i took my car to 3 different places with the print-out in my hand (sears alignment) and they said alignment looks fine .i don't know maybe they were just lazy, also asked some performance alignment shop and quoted $250 (?) for 4 wheel alignment ...and he mentioned that the car might still pull right after the alignment so i basically couldn't sacrifice my $250 to get a better alignment but still have to deal with that annoying thing ..thanks for the input

The wide tires really pull a with a crowned surface.
Sounds like your toe is set a little out. which will kinda make it "drift" or "wander" a little in the lane. A little toe in will make the car a little more stable at high speeds.
Post your alingment specs: caster, camber, toe, etc.
Take it to an actual shop just to be sure. But one other really silly little thing. I am sure you probably already did this... but check your tire pressures. Wider tires will always tend to track with the road surface but if you have uneven pressures it can go all over.
I also believe there was a thread a few months back where someone had two different "rear" tire pressures and they were wondering why the car pulled in one direction on accel and then the opposite on decel.
The numbers look OK but if you do not have a tire pressure or tire drag (excessive rolling resistance) issue it could be because the machine wasn't calibrated. Then anybody looking at the numbers would think it was fine when in fact the numbers are wrong.
My car pulled like crazy with the F1 Supercars. The GS D3s don't pull as hard but the steering on the Z still seems very sensitive, which really isn't a bad thing
could be the tire---cross the frt tires left to right and see if the car pulls the opposite direction on the same road. If it does one of the frt tires is defective. (radial tire pull)
