just drove to frederick, MD and back and had the car drifted up in frederick
the car no longer stumbles under light throttle, which is fantastic
but of course, a new problem has crept up in its place.
now it stumbles (randomly) at idle
but I suspect this may be a tuning issue, and will re-tune it later on and see if that finishes off the problem
I have had this problem when a plug or plug wire goes bad. It didn't throw a code right away, but after a few times it did finally throw a misfire code.
Check your plugs and wires. Have you changed them recently?
I once bought a el-cheap-o set of wires and it did exactly what you are describing.
Drop to a lower gear, say second and try the same senario. Run along at a low speed, lug it if you have to and then slowly add some throttle. to get a misfire code you need to get the mixture rich enough to show up at the O2 sensors.
Same here... In my case it was a bad wire that cause stumbling after it got good and hot. Just found it today. Wire was torn and discolored. Could have happened when removing the wire from the plug at one time or another. Replaced the wire and all is good.

Did you notice anything with your trans slipping in OD?
what do you mean by that exactly? (just trying to make sure we're on the same page)
OK maybe I misunderstood the problem you described in your first post. Sorry.
Every once in a while it seems my torque converter unlocks, locks, unlocks at highway speed.
When it does this, if I gently give it gas the RPMs raise up 300 or so and then fall way back down. The car falls on its face.
Depending on how hard I give it gas will determine how many RPMs go up before they dump back down. Really weird.
