Default Stealership makes mistake; Eats difference

I took my 2000 A4 coupe in for the dreaded rear left axle leak technical bulletin service at the local dealer. They were unaware of the technical bulletin out on this and they quoted me $286.12 driveout for the parts mentioned in the tech bulletin and labor. I told them that was a great price I was expecting more like $400.00 . So I go pick up the vette and they ring the ticket up for the axle seal, left differential cover and the sealant and 2.5 hours labor. Guess what they forget that they needed the synthetic gear oil replaced since the cover was changed and eat the $63.00 for the gear oil. I was impressed and happy with the service. Felt blessed I got a break for a change.

That's great! Good to hear you were treated well. Your next oil change will cost you $142.50.

I took my 2004 to Hardy Chevrolet in Gainesville Ga. for the same thing. Turned out to be a leak in the rear of the trans. They fixed it, and while they were there they replaced the rearend seals also. Told me no charge they would cover the cost. This was around April of this year. How's that for service!

I sent the wife by the next morning with the mini-skirt on, and two dozen donuts for the shop guys.
