Went to the track last night, car ran great! But... after about my 5th pass I noticed it was hard for my car to go into reverse, I thought maybe the clutch was real hot so I let the car cool down for about an hour. Well... that didnt help, now the car will not go into reverse unless the car is turned off Every other gear 1-6 still feels great! no issues what so ever!
I thought that might be a possibility but the car goes into reverse if its in acc. so.. that tells me its nothing mechanical, has to be electrical. Did a search, theres been a couple of guys with simular problems, some said there reverse lock out solenoid went bad and others said the reverse lock wire or connector came loose. Im hoping mine is something simple like that.
I just had a Tex OZ700 Zgrip installed on friday. Since then i'm having the exact same problem. I believe my problem is caused by the clutch not completly disengaging....once i beat on the clutch a little bit i'm able to get the car into reverse. I'm hoping with some miles on the clutch it will go away.
Possibly you're having a clutch issue where it's not disengaging enough to allow the car to go into reverse?
I read somewhere there is a TSB related to bent forks. The fix is to have a dealership put in a steel fork. Don't know if this applies to your situation but it kinda sounds like it.
I might have read this in the Z06 FAQs.
..rickko..

I have the same clutch, with about 1500 miles on it. Clutch feels great! Well... the car goes to the shop in the morning, I'll let you guys know what I find out. My money says it has something to do with the reverse lock out solenoid
I just dont get it! how can it work with the car in accesory but not work when the car is running? Doesnt that clearly state that theres an electrical problem? If it were mechanical then it should not go into reverse at all right?
Rick I replied sent you a pm back. I had the same exact issue a few months ago. I ended up disconnecting the battery for about 10 mins, hooked it back up and everything works. Figured it was just a bandaid and would reappear but haven't had the issue since.

Tried that, my luck is not as good as yours I guess
Your issue is without a doubt the reverse lockout soleniod, whether it is a bad connection or just needs replaced. I have the info on doing a swap if you need it.

Stupid question but is your spedo working? My wire harness sheared the wires where they leave the protective covering above the differential. No input from the sensor in the rear end = no spedo and no reverse lockout.

Yea, spedo is still working correctly. My car still drives and act's the same as usual, just know reverse without cutting the car off
