Custom Coupe Headliner

Materials:
cardboard for the base
black spray paint (for the top side of the cardboard)
1 yard of black headliner material (from my local JoAnn's fabric store)
3mm thick foam pads to cut the letters out of (also from JoAnn's)
High temp/performance spray adhesive
suction cups or velcro to adhere to your targa. (I'm still experimenting with how I want to mount it).
I found the "corvette" font on the forum and saved it to my computer. I printed out letters in size 200 and used them as a template to cut out the letters from the 3mm foam pad.
Check it out. Didn't come out perfect due to not knowing the best way to work with the spray adhesive, but not too shabby for a first try.

A really nice job & great fit. Great idea.Any plans to manf. & sell them.I too only have the lexan top. If not how about a step by step procedure from start to finish.I would do the letters in black as to match my interior color & give the liner some contrast.
Thanks.

No plans to make any more right now, but I'll PM you a quick step by step list.
Making the letters in a contrasting color would take some talent (that I lack)
The letters I used are under the fabric, so you'll have to figure out a method. I suppose you could cut out the letters and glue them on top of the liner material, but foam is not the easiest thing to cut and have it look good. Or, you could cut out letters from fabric and have them sewn onto the headliner, maybe with some batting under them to give 'em a little form. I'm sure anyone with a little textile experience could come up with something.

Here is the original post with my details and where I bought my materials.
