My 02' is back at the dealer to have the HUD replaced. Car is still under warranty and this wouldn't be that big a deal, except the car has been in the shop on at least 11 times with different electrical problems. Door & seat modules have shorted out 4 times, head light actuator 3 times, fuel sending unit 3 times, instrument cluster gauges replaced and now the HUD. (and I'm on my third battery).
Dealer just replaces the parts and does nothing to located the cause. I've heard it could be a grounding problem, but the dealer says unless something major has to reveal it, all he can do is replaced shorted out parts.
Has anyone else had these problems or suggestions to a cure.
My '02' had the fuel sensor problem, but was correct by using a fuel additive that fixed that problem. Battery tender used during storage, with no problems. Previous owner had the window regulator replaced under warranty. The C5 has 23.8K on the clock. No other electrical problems to report. Do a search in the C5 Tech Community, there is a wealth of excellent information that helps with all sorts of remedies for C5's. There is one that references wiring harness connectors that causes a lot of problems because of moisture/corrosion. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

I'm sure glad you have a warranty!
I have an '02 and have had my share of electrical issues, but not to the degree you're experiencing. Here is a list I had and the fixes,
- HVAC blower dead - corroded power connector - cleaned the connector
- Complete loss of power to driver door - exposed wire in the door connector... I believe Bill Curlee did a write up on this. Liquid electrical tape and cleaning the connector cured this.
- Door lock failure - the infamous door control module issue... replaced the $1.00 relay as per bakersfield's excellent write up.
Although I am not sure if grounding issues would be the culprit here, probably going in and cleaning your grounds in the engine bay would not hurt. You could at least rule out grounds as an potential issue.
If you do eventually find the cause for all your headaches, please follow up and let us know.
I had "weird things" for a while, then replaced the battery. Weird things stopped happening, like the HUD resetting, the radio changing station presets and the locks and memory seats not working.
If you have multiple unrelated symptoms, try installing a new, sealed battery.
The next thing to worry over is the computer wiring, which stupidly enough is directly underneath the battery. Any venting or dripping of acid will leak down and damage the wiring harness causing all kinds of seemingly insane, unrelated electrical and computer problems.
