I installed an iPod2car in my 99 Coupe over a year ago and it worked fine with my 2nd Generation iPod. I recently bought an iPod touch, and when I hook it up in my C5, it will play for 20-30 seconds and then pause. Then I hit play, and it will play for another 20-30 seconds and pause itself again. Let me tell you that can get VERY annoying VERY soon. So, I looked on their website and it says that it will do this if you don't have the latest firmware from Apple...so I downloaded the latest firmware, and wouldn't you know it continues to do this. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem?
The iPod touch works just fine in my CTS-V, it just doesn't like my C5.
Well I just talked to Peripheral and they said that they are having problems with the iPod touch (16gb and 32gb), doing the same thing that I described. He said they are working on a fix right now, but they have no idea why they are acting that way. There goes $120 down the drain.
I bought an ipod nano (the current one with video) as a gift to my girlfriend and we tired her new ipod in my car and it was similar. Although her's will play the whole song, but you can't control the ipod at all, not even from the ipod itself. You have to disconnect then reconnect to change the song. If you make a playlist though it would work ok I think.
Must be something up with the new iPods. I think its all of them, not just the Touch.
I have the same problem with my iPod Touch. They told me the same thing about the fix.
They did send me a replacement cord the connects to the headphone jack. You lose the capability to use the changer controls for the iPod. They said this was an interim fix.

I have the latest gen nano and have had no issues. I also have a 16GB Iphone and have not tried it in the Vette. I would think it would be the closest thing to the Itouch. I am going on a cruise this weekend and will check it out.

They said that it doesn't affect the iPhone's for reasons they do not know...only the touch.
The new iphone 3G doesn't charge from my ipod2car. The iphone says "this peripheral was not designed for the iphone and I cannot charge" or something to that effect.
OK I will now state that everything is not fine. It does not charge the Iphone, it just plays music and drains the battery.
The issue on the Iphone 3G is lack of Firewire power suppor. Most accessories have been using the firewire pins to supply power for charging and the Iphone no longer supports firewire charging only USB charging via the USB pins.
