I have a slight vibration at around 75 miles per hour on my 01 Vette. Has anyone had the road force balancing done and if so, were you happy with the results? The cost is $25 per wheel.
I had road force balancing done once, and it can compensate for imperfections in the wheel and tire match.
I would check to make sure it is not just a bad wheel or something going bad with the tire and correct the source of the vibration.
I had mine done after experiencing vibration at speeds above 65 mph with a new set of "balanced" wheels and tires. All four wheels were out of balance and are much better now they've been rebalanced. Do it... It's well worth it.
Have my done at the Tire Barn
They mounted my 4 tires and road force balance them for 85.00 out the door.
My turn out Great! and the Tire Barn will get my business from now on
I had mine done by a big tire shop near me. Be rude and ask if the person using the machine has been trained to use it. The two fools that did mine argued over how it should have been done. They didn't know, another person who was trained had to intervene and fix what they screwed up. So...... ask up front if they are trained, if they look at you funny go somewhere else. David
If the person using the equipment is competent, you should be able to achieve a good balance with or without the road force variation, but I guess it can't hurt.
