Jacked up 1st time

I got it from Tooltopia.com, $275.99 delivered
.
The Cross Beam Adapter, 2 Ton, Model: 145883, is from Northern Tool.com, $29.99 plus $15 shipping.
.
The cross beam adapter was advertised to fit American made floor jacks..It did not quite fit this jack, I think I took about .030 off the center pin with a die grinder to make it fit.
.
Again the cross beam adapter width is adjustible, I found it to be too long for both the front and rear jacking points, So I got out the cutting torch and cut a half moon in each end of the center frame to allow the adjustible ends to slide in a bit more..also had to do the same to the inside ends of the adjustible ends so that they could slide in past the center pin. I got it down to 25 inches in width, which is almost perfect, I will probably get the torch back out and get it down to 23 inches for the front cross beam.
.
I want to thank you guys here on the forum, this is were I learned about the jack and the cross beam adapter..The modification is mine though.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
setup. Not to downplay the ingenuity here but I think there may be a more "aesthetically pleasing" route. Why not take about 2", or whatever is needed, off of all three pieces with a band saw or chop saw? It would make a much nicer looking finished product, provided you don't need the length for a different vehicle.
Again, not to say what tbar1963 did isn't working, just another option.
Thanks again for all the info on the hardware!
