Default Altec Splash Guards??

I just purchased a set and went to install them yesterday. I have few complaints questions etc.

First off I live on a gravel road so splash guards are a must.

The fit looked to be poor at best.

They don't use factory screws and you have to drill which to me as very disappointing since its not mentioned in the advertisement...

I lined them up and the fit looked very poor. You would have to drill on the out facing surface of the fender, so if you removed them a very visual hole would be apparent. Once you drill the screws only hold into the fiberglass. No backing plate supplied.

The top screw hole releif boss was to deep and wouldn't allow the edge of the flap to fit flush with the fender surface...

Needless to say I didn't install them!

Does everyone have fitment issues with these? Were mine just a bad batch.

Any other decent priced options available? Anything through GM (couldn't find anything through Google..)

Not familiar with them, but APSIS just finished up creating a set for C5's that fit very well.

I like those but at $380 for the set a little rich for my blood.

Have these on both the '99 and '04.

Do NOT worry about the structural integrity (screws - no backing plate).

On the '99 they have been installed for over 6 years - the '04 since new.

No issues.
