Searched so sorry if this has been discussed already.
The wheel, seats, and mirror sometimes creep over time, requiring me to have to adjust all three. The steering wheel is all the way in so it usually stays there, but the right mirror is the biggest culprit. I'm the only one driving the car; nothing would be moving if the memory function would chill out! I have the easy entry turned off.
Common occurrence? Is it possible to disable memory positioning with the keyless? For the rare times my fiancee drives the car she can just press #2 while in the car.
Guess it's just my car. It's not from outside influences... I can see/hear it cycle the motor of whatever it thinks is out of position when I press the unlock button on the key fob.
It doesn't really do it very much, but it is kind of annoying when it does.
I take it there is no way to disable the memory function then?
No, you're not crazy ... my 02 is doing this also. My LH mirror resets itself every time I use the fobs to open the car. I'm the only one that drives it, and I have the Easy entry stuff turned off. I have readjusted the mirror and set it's position to both 1 and 2, still does it. I click the fob and you can hear the motor run and it tilts the mirror down.
I was just searching here to see if there was a fix for this, and came across this thread. I've had my C5 for about 3 months and thought I might be programming the silly thing wrong.
I had this problem. It turned out the memory setting would keep reseting to my brothers setting (I bought the vette off him), even after I thought I reset it to my settings. I just reset it a couple times and it stayed put. I think I also retrained the fobs after I reset the memory function.
Retraining the fobs was my next step, because I have reset the 1 and 2 buttons many, many times. IIRC, I read that you can accidentially train the fobs out of order , ie, fob one needs to be trained first. Is this right? Is there any way to clear or reset the memory options?
Pressing the fob should not move the mirror or anything else. Only after the key is put in the ignition with the door closed and car not moving should the memory adjust the mirrors, seats, etc. If it's moving when you press the fob before you get in the car, something besides memory settings is wrong. Sorry, I can't imagine what would cause that.
