Thanks Daddy,

How far up the hood does it cover? Up to where the headlights end? Or further up? (Can't see the edge of the film in your pictures.)

Either way, I placed an order just now since it's cheap insurance on a black car. Even if I already have a few chips.

I'll post my review as well. I've installed a $200 (Lamin-X) clear bra on my other car last fall so it'll be interesting how they compare.

I want to point out one thing about this kit. It is not paint protection film. It is clear vinyl just like they use for vehicle graphics... I read through the fine print in the ad.

Just an FYI, kits like these have been selling on fleabay and other places, and I have seen photos (on the web) of not pretty results. Do some searching and you will find them. You always get what you pay for.

I used water with a mixture of 25% baby shampoo. I can tell you that the kit looks really nice and has saved my paint already. It's well worth the 20 bucks to me. The film is rather thick. I shot a spare piece with my sons BB gun and it did not rip or tear. A pellet put a small dent in it but bounced right off. As for the heat, we have had 95+ degree temps here in the ATL and no problems thus far. You do get what you pay for... the bulk of the cost is in the install, it takes time to do it right. Anyway, good luck to thoes who decide to buy, I do not regret for one second putting this on my Vette. As a matter of fact, many vette owners have told me they want the same thing on their car but want to do other mods first. When I tell them the price was 20 bucks they are speechless. I put one on my buddies black vette two days ago..rode with him today and you can't even see it.

Cool thanks. Well mine was a little more than $20 because I bought the deluxe kit. I've seen the 3M film installed and there are some spots with air under the edge so I would the effectiveness is all in the install. Plus if I screw it up I figure I could get 1 or 2 more kits before it went over my waste of money threshold.

Do you wash your car by hand or use the high pressure systems?

Thanks again.
