Default Dust on black dashboard?????

I know some of you must have some "fix" to keep dust and other particulate matter from collecting on black dashboards. It seems like we are dusting it off a couple of times a day (esp with top off). Is there any special cleaner, method to reduce dust collection on a black dash?

Thanks

The only 1 I am aware of is to pull it in the garage, close the windows, cover it up, and leave. But that is no fun.

There is no fix especially with the top off. Just dust it!

I carry a car cleaning kit in the trunk. It has Armor All wipes for the dash and a spray for the seats. It also have a bottle of window cleaner as well.

I use the small California Duster on mine. Keep it behind the seat and use it when dust builds up. Works great.

Get the small CA duster and use it when needed. It takes me 10 seconds to dust mine off and its a vert.

Short of keeping the top on and the windows up, just try using a California Dash Duster (mini version of the California Duster). It's what I used and it works great.

Just the small CA duster here too. I also have a similar contraption to clean the inside of the windscreen.

I tried Son of a Gun at one point but gave up on that because the shine reflected in the screen. I just use a dry duster now.

Itty-bitty duster in the glove compartment. My wife does her "housework" on Saturdays when we run around together.

I've heard of wiping it down with fabric softener sheets. You know, the ones for your dryer. Their main purpose is to take the static out of the clothes in the dryer so they don't have so much static.

If you wipe your dash with one after you clean it I believe it creates a + or - charge (whichever one repels the dust) so that dust isn't attracted to it.

i could be wrong but i remember seeing a little Filter like screen that goes under the hood infront the wind shield on the drivers side, i think the air that goes into the cabin comes from that vent. its some cheap little ebay filter i believe GSCreations sells it too. that should keep some/most of the junk out...

Hi vette99coupe -

I use a California Duster, but I use the smaller version for the dash, instrument cluster, hud etc.

I use a cotton or micro-fiber towel dampened with mild soapy water to wipe the dash down when cleaning, and I sparingly use Meguires Shine - once a year or so when I think it is time.

You might want to post this to the Car Care Products forum.

best regards-
