Default Question: '02-'04 owners

My '02 Z06 is a fairly early production model (Build date: 10/01, serial 112348). It does not have the LS6 sticker on the MAF. Did that sticker start showing up later in '02, in '03 or in '04?

Speaking of production dates, anyone know what date GM started the '02 assembly line?

..rickko..

I believe 2002 production was in late June early July 2001. Mine was built October 26, 2001. If you are talking about the red LS6 throtle body plate that was put on 2004 Z06's. I added one to my Z. Don

^ Bingo... The LS6 throttle body plates were not stock until 2004.

June 21, 2001 according to this website ....

http://www.c5registry.com/MembersOnl...2002c5prod.htm

Your car was assembled on October 30th ..... your door sticker only shows the month and year assembled ... this gives you the actual day.

Dude! That's an awesome site! I found the 2003 page and found out that I have a D-Day car... born June 6th! I just missed it's 5th birthday... I shall throw it an unbirthday party then.

Yep! I have one on my '04 convertible (LS1). I didn't know if they made them for '02 models.

Thanks everyone for your quick responses and the TERRIFIC web page reference. Its now bookmarked.

I have noticed that links to the Alldata site are broken. I guess you must become a member to access their TSB data. Or, it doesn't exist online any longer?

Default I know..............

Yah ZeeOSix, read the last two lines of the link and you'll see that they clearly state the last day of 2001 production was June 21 , 2001 and the first day of the 2002 production was June 22, 2001. I believe that was rickko's second question.

Rickko; did you see this throttle plate Z06 logo? Its milled out of 6061 and engraved then the logo is powder coated. [IMG][/IMG] Or perhaps this one , which is my favorite one as it goes with my black and QS color theme.[IMG][/IMG]

^ Would have been a really cool piece if they finished the flags of on the C5 emblem.

Yep, both the 01 and 02 info links show the start of production for the 2002 models.

Hi rickko -

I learned this tidbit a while back regarding the LS6 TB sticker on the 04's.

I also have an Oct 2001 Z06 (no TB sticker).

Did you know that there was a run of 02 Z06's that came from Bowling Green with the 2001 ALCOA forged Z06 wheels? The reason was "shipping issues" in the aftermath of the Sept 11 attacks.

My 2002 EB Z came from GM with 2001 Z06 rims.

best regards -

How cool... my car was born on a Thursday, September 26th 2002 and it was the 7th one built out of 156 cars that day.

Guys ... June 21st was an "overlap" day. The plant finished 2001 production that day and ALSO built 7 cars that were 2002 models (notice the first car built on June 22 is Job number 8 ......

So as I initially posted the FIRST day of 2002 cars was June 21 .... not the 22nd.
