How hard was it for you to commit to make your Vette a DD? I am trying to do it but wiping down he car dailly may cut into enjoying the car. Just moved to SC and the weather is nice.
I bought mine to be a DD as well. I don't see the point of having a roof over my head during my commute. For really crappy weather days, I have a conversion van I can drive.

I think your perspective is a degree or 2 off. I don't look at wiping / dusting as a chore. It's more like caressing the awesome curves of a fine automobile. Moving from the hood on down along the curves to the cove area. When you get all the caressing done; well then it's time to jump in, crank her up and take her for a spin........ Kind of what you might do with a fine woman.
Mine is a DD, the key, for me since I want my Vette as clean as possible at all times, is lay down several coats of good wax, use Mequires spray touch up and spray wax, easy on easy off. I buy and carry with me 100% cotton wipe clothes from House of Tar-geat, a California Dust Buster is crucial to wiping off dust, etc. I also use a silver windshield sunblocker as well as 4 nets with suction cups. Your real worries are other drivers, never park where a car can back into you, as the low nose (front fascia) is waiting to get creamed. Also worries about vandals is cause for concern. I also never park in between 2 other cars for obvious reasons. It can be done and the thing is once you get used to DD your Vette you will not be satisfied with anything eles as a DD, IMO. Good luck and remeber life is short enjoy what and where you can.

My car is perpetually dirty, so I have no problems with it being a DD.
When I bought the '01 we already had an'88 with low mielage that had never seen rain or unpaved roads...
We bought it as a DD and explained to the club that it was our "rain car" for trips/days when the '88 could not come out and play.
