OK, got another corvette tax. I need to replace the throttle position sensor on my 2004. The bolts look kind of like a torx, but has a dipple in the middle of the indention. What kind of tool does it take to remove the bolts, and can I buy (yet another tool) the one time tool at Sears.
If it looks like a 6 pointed star with a pin stuck in the middle, you will need a "tamper-proof torx" The are available at specialty tool stores . May not find them at the everyday hardware store or Sears. Good Luck.

That's where I got mine. On sale for $2.99 for a set of 33 tamper proof bits.

Those screws are tamper proof for a reason..and the tools to remove them were hard to get for the same reason...Don't mess with them unless you really know what you are doing.
Well, I went to Habor Frieght and bought an assortment set. Just could not resist buying a few other things while I was there. I replaced the throttle position sensor and the car runs like great again. Thanks for the reminder about Habor Frieght!
