Hid/ Headlight Motor Issue

I too have run into the same problem and found it is due to the ballast drawing lesser wattage than the halogen bulbs (35w versus 55w). My solution is to turn on the lights with the high beams on (they use halogen bulbs) and then to switch over to the low beams, which use the HIDs.
However, since one of my ballasts crapped out in the first few months of use, I decided to order the “DOT approved HID lights” from Corvette Garage (expecting them to arrive next Monday) and am hoping for better luck. I am tired of blinding every car coming at me as well as the cars in front of me. It can be a problem using HID bulbs in the stock halogen housings, without the proper reflector setup. Although you do get lots of light (much better than the halogen low beams), you also get a few cars flashing their high-beams at you when you blind oncoming traffic.
