I have a canadian 2003 Corvette Z06 and was wondering if you are able to turn off the daytime running lights. Sometimes when it is light out with the sky a tad dim the lights flip up and i was wondering if it is optional to turn it off. Any information would be very appreciated.
You're confusing two functions. The DRL function brings on the amber turn signals when the car is moving. twilight Sentinel (hard wired in Canada) gives the automatic headlights. That works through a sensor sensing the ambient light and bringing on either DRLS or headlights depending on light conditions.
You can't inhibit TS on a Canadian spec car through the DIC as we can on US spec cars. You can inhibit the DRLs (amber Turn signals) by pulling fuse 2 or doing the relay mod in the passenger footwell.
I've seen fixes for TS posted. One member posted recently that someone had produced a relay mod/wiring harness to bypass the TS although there were no details posted. I've heard of reflashing the computer to delete TS. Zilla may be able to help.
