Default C5 vert options 99-01

I can't find a 99-2001 A4 vert with all the following options:
Z51, F-45, & Performance rear axle, did they make them with all 3 of these options? TIA

Z-51 includes the performance rear axle. F-45 is an adjustable suspension and obviously, you can't get this and Z-51. The answer to your question is no they did not make them with all three.

Thanx,
make's sense now......guess having the F-45 real time damping w/ perf. mode selected gives you performance axle & handling both..

F45 suspension is known as Selective Real Time Dampening. It is a three way adjustable shock that adjusts the dampening. The system is used in conjunction with the FE1 base suspension, meaning that you have the lightest rate springs front and rear along with the thinnest diameter sway bars.

The Z51 suspension has higher rate springs, different shocks, thicker sways and a power steering cooler.

So in answer to your question - the F45 set on the performance setting only stiffens the rebound on the shocks, it is not a true performance suspension, where the Z51 is.

The performance axle to which you refer only applies to the A4, which would go from a standard 2.73 ratio to a 3.15. All MN6 cars came from the factory with a standard 3.42 axle ratio.

Roger's Corvette has a set of specs that might help answer your question.

Just a little clarification to what has been mentioned above, some of which you may already know:

For A4 transmissions only, when ordering the Z51 Performance Handing Package, one was also required to order the 3:15 Performance Axle. However with the A4, one could order the 3:15 Performance Axle without having to order the Z51 package.

The 3:15 Performance Axle was only available with the A4 as all M6 transmissions came with the 3:42 axle.

Technically, RPO Z51 is the Performance Handing Package which consists of the RPO FE3 Sport Suspension and a power steering cooler. And, as mentioned above, the Z51 package could not be had with the F45 suspension or the F55 suspension which replaced the F45 in model year 2003.

ok, this may sound redundant or stupid, but are all the following true:

Are all these options are available:

A4 vert with 2:73 standard axle and f45 ride control (z51 not available on this set up)

A4 vert with 3:15 performance axle and f45 ride control (z51 not available on this set up)

A4 vert with z51 which only comes with 3:15 perf. axle (f45 not available on this set up)

once again,
Thanx for all the great info on this topic!!!

Default just adding additional info-basically as said above

just adding additional info-basically as said above, for future reference:

I still see ad's and even dealers listing cars that show they have the z51 package and the real time damping option both

Three suspension choices allow drivers to choose the setup that best suits their style of driving. Each of the choices (Corvette Standard, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, and Z51 Performance Package) provides outstanding handling, but each also offers drivers the ability to tailor the car's handling traits to specific preferences.

The Standard suspension is tuned for a balance of ride comfort and precise handling. The optional F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension adds to the Standard suspension magneto-rheological dampers that are able to detect road surfaces and adjust the damping rates to those surfaces almost instantly for optimal ride and body control.

The optional Z51 Performance Package is a competition-ready system for the true performance enthusiast. It offers more aggressive dampers and springs, larger stabilizer bars, Goodyear Supercar tires with an asymmetrical tread pattern, and larger, cross-drilled brake rotors for outstanding handling performance that is still comfortable for daily driving. Beyond the suspension bits, the Z51 is a total system that takes the regular C6 to near-exotic levels of performance. It features gear ratios borrowed from the previous Corvette Z06 for maximum acceleration performance, and includes coolers added for the transmission and power steering systems for aggressive, track-oriented use.

This is true for the C6 - however it is not true for the C5. Tires and brakes with Z51 were not a part of the package. If you chose a A4 C5 with Z51 - I believe the performance axle was required (3.15). If you had chosen the M6....all M6's regardless of the suspension option came with 3.42 ratios.
