Default Do I need an X-Pipe?

I am almost ready to get some headers. LG, Kooks, or SSAC. The reason I am thinking about the SSAC headers is I hear their 2nd gen headers are really good (any input would be greatly appreciated). My question is do I need an X-Pipe? I currently have a Borla exhaust on the car. Will the stock mid section be O.K.?

Thanks for your help.

You don't NEED an x-pipe, but most headers come with a matching x-pipe anyway. I am running an X-pipe and Borla Stingers with my SSAC headers. I had an early 1st gen SSAC set, so I used a modified Corsa X-pipe. You can hear idle clips by clicking on my sig.

There are a lot of options.

I have LG pro's and used their H and an X pipe. Hot coated the entire set up and bolted on my borla stingers.

While you don't have to have an x-pipe, I'd recommend one. I think the exhaust flows a bit better with the x-pipe.

My only advice would be to try and get a complete setup if you want to do the x-pipe. I originally had Borla stingers, added an aftermarket x-pipe and then later just a set of headers. Most of the x-pipe's I've seen involve cutting the existing exhaust to replace the factory H section with the x-pipe. It is hard to get components like that to match up exactly.

Later, I went to the Dynomax Supermax setup which includes the headers, high flow cats and x-pipe (goes all the way back to where the stingers attach). This type system to me makes more sense because the compents going from headers all the way back to the cat-back setup are designed to work together and fit together much better.

There are lots of setups from lots of manufactures but I would recommend going with a complete system that fits together better.
