take one extremely ripe road kill armadillo, stir it with two hot exhaust pipes and what do you have?

an aroma that would gag a maggot. thankfully it was short lived.

it appeared from under the auto ahead with no opportunity to avoid it

Not a bad idea...the tail may be still stuck in the Intercooler somewhere...I'll go find it

Must have been a nasty mess. I haven't seen any bits of the coon, but I did find some fur.

I swear more than 50% of the drive was in a construction zone. I90 from Cleveland to Buffalo was almost one long construction zone.

Ouch! I'm kind of surprised that was all the damage it did.

Fortunately for me, it must havef been a fairly fresh kill. I don't remember smelling anything.

I am at max boost again, but still anticipate the pipe blowing apart at anytime.

I can't argue that logic. But then again, he was already dead when I hit him, so I came out a little worse

Sucks to hear that but glad you are getting back to working condition.

Worst thing I've hit is a turtle in the road. Didn't think my car was that low but he hit the bottom of the Vette. After driving over him at about 45 I looked in the mirror and saw him spinning in the road. Guaranty he had a headache and was dizzy for a while but did no damage to the car.

I can picture a turtle on his back spinning around with his arms, legs & head extended and flailing, thinking "WTF!?!".

I had a similar instance a while back but it was a big chunk of a cinder block. Luckily I swerved and took it on the tire instead of it going under the car, I can imagine what that would have done. But it ruined one of my almost new SSR GT3 front rims, I had to get a replacement. Also scared the pi$$ out of me at 65 mph. Stalled the car, and then came up wobbling...thankfully it just dented the rim and caused no other suspension damage. And surprisingly it didn't damage the tire. Nice soft pirelli's...

Here's hoping you the best in your repairs...

Had to straddle a deer carcass a while ago. No damage, but what a smell. I think I scared the crap out of it ... or me! Had to find a car wash as soon as possible.

Neighbor's dog now just walks around it sniffing and looking confused.

At least it was an under part that you can R/R. I hit a raccoon recently and it cracked my front bumper at the brake cooling intake vent.

I hope I killed it!

I'd say you got pretty lucky. I'm surprised you didn't get any rocker damage

No damage? Granted this was a big coon, but if it had been a deer, I think I'd be posting a different story. I am also lowered, that may be part of the problem.

I did look at the bumper when I got home that night since I didnt know where it hit at the time.

So far everything is holding together.

I think that would have taken out the entire undercarriage
