i live in PA. - drive the 02 vert. as much as possible IN NICE WEATHER - SOOOO what better way to be driving IN NICE WEATHER than w/top down. Coupes are nice - but.
I live a little further north than you and mine doesn't see day light for six months at a time due to winter weather. I bought it new and love it. The convertibles actually have less wind buffeting than than the coupes with the roof panel off. When it's a warm day it's really a blast to drop the top and go for a drive.

Absolutely incorrect - the weight difference between a coupe and a convertible is only two pounds.
There is virtually no difference in the structural rigidity of the coupe and the convertible. In fact the C5 was designed in the beginning as a convertible. The difference between a coupe and convertible is that a coupe has a structural brace under the roof like a basket handle. The convertible obviously does not have this brace, it's support is behind the seats. The FRC (fixed roof body style which became the Z06 in 2001) has both, and as a result is approximately 12% stiffer.
Also - the Z06 is about 130 pounds lighter than the coupe or convertible.
I'm a coupe man myself , just like the way it looks , and its easy to take the top off when I want . But I'm sure everyone has their own opinion( it's still a vette)
Go drive both with the top off and see which you like better. I love my vert, and it seems like the vert top is way easier to deal with than the coupe top, and the car is more enjoyable to drive around than the coupe.
I live in Mass. and added heated seats to mine. They add so much to the enjoyment as we use them throughout the year.
I can't see owning anything but a vert.
Couple people are getting seriously out numbered here, so I will cast my vote for the coupe. I like the security, and how the lines of the roof flow on the car. But, it doesn't matter what I like, you're buying and driving the car, get what you want, either will be awesome.
Well, for me it's not my daily car....so when it's sunny no rain...i take my convertable out and i love it...I had a Miata before and was a convertable to....and before i had a moto ...so the convert. is betwen the car and motocycle......
I'll go for convertible 100 % ..............
I would say to judge it by the weather where you live. Here, a vert is out of the question as there are only a couple of weeks out of the year where it's not too hot or too cold to have the top off... It's 111 degrees here as I type this.
I'm on my third coupe, but if I lived someplace with good weather, like San Diego or San Luis Obispo, I'd have a vert.
I prefer a convertible with the top down....but prefer the lines of the coupe versus the convertible with the top up.
BTW, there is nothing wrong with having a convertible as a daily driver. I had a '96 convertible as my DD for over a year. My C6 convertible is my daily driver, now.
