I started having problems about 6 weeks ago with turning the key and then nothing. No clicking but then it would start right up. The battery is an A/C delco, 6 months new and everything on the dash reads fine. A few weeks ago it started happening more frequently with a few minutes becoming the norm before I could start it. Anyway, I replaced the starter last week and tonight, on my way out of town, went and filled her up, came back home, loaded the car and-nothing. Fifteen minutes later, cranks right up. Let it run, shut it down and again, nothing. I'm thankful it happened in my garage and not at a gas station three hundred miles from home.
I'm a newbie here and I've owned the car for a 16 months. I've been reading some posts and saw a few mentions about cleaning the keys. I replaced the ignition a year ago so I'm only wishing cleaning the keys with alchohol can solve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Gee, this sounds like my old 1990. I think this guy got the wrong forum, but my solution after 2 alternators, 1 starter, and 2 batteries, I got rid of it.
