Park in Reverse??

Probably 99.9% of the time I parked mine in reverse, but on occasion left it in 1st. Never had any problems with doing that.

I have a friend that learned the hard way why he should have parked in reverse in his 99 M6. He was parked on a slight incline in a shopping center in first gear. Forgot the emergency brake or it didn't work. Came out and the car actually rolled down the incline and almost hit some cars parked about 30 feet away.

In our MN6 we always park in gear....
Which gear depends on whether the road is flat or We are parking nose up (first) of nose down (reverse) and also point the tires to curb the car should it move.....
