What is the best replacement upgrade for factory radio that will fit in the same slot in my C5. Do they make one with a GPS??

I’m looking for one with the same fit too. I don’t need the GPS but I want HD radio, XM and aux input bluetooth would benice too. I don’t like the ones that are not the same size.

There are lots of choices if you go with a 1 DIN unit (the kind with the flip up screen). I opted to go with a double DIN unit (Kenwood DNX7120) which required mods to the center console but it turned out really nice (not the greatest photo but it gives you a good idea. Oh, and the bezel wasn't on correctly for this shot so things don't look centered)

They don't make 1.5-DIN stereo head units anymore. Kenwood and Alpine used to offer a 1.5-DIN that would fill the area, but those are about 3+ years old and you can pretty much only find them fleabay now. If you don't want to do the 2-DIN LCD-type installation (and I don't blame you), you'll have to find 1-DIN head unit and have blank space or add filler such as a small storage box or a small equalizer. I think a member here named RadioFlyer has that type of setup with the small equalizer. You may to check with him.

Yup. Alpine has a series of headunit that area NAV compatable.
I have the older but trusty IVA D310. The replacements are the Alpine IVA D105 and D106. THe newer ones don't have an external brain unit like the D310.
THe only thing i dont' really care for is the 2v pre-outs. I use mine wth an Alpine PXA H701 processor for my front component speakers.
This is mine:
the small 1/2 DIN device is an EPIC 150 Subwoofer harmonics processor.
I'm about to get a blackbird to integrate with my D310.

I've been through it twice
Both C5's and C6's technically have enough room for double-din or single-din flip out types. But, there's not alot of room to work with, it might cost a tad more to have it done professionally. And, if you have a factory Bose system you either need to bypass it entirely or buy an adaptor to work in the Bose system....and you will buy another module to replace the factory "bings!" since they go through the factory deck.......it all can be done...

Yep, double DIN is the way to go. I went with a Pioneer AVIC-D3...

Thanks for chiming in, TRF. Do you have a picture of your HU and processor taken in daylight? Kinda hard to see how it looks in the dash with that night photo...

2023 C5 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I have the AVIC X1R fitted which is the Euro equivalent of the N1. Looks like the N3 was the last of the 1.5 DIN units and that they get it all into a single DIN with the N4.
Mine does most of what I want including Nav. I burn MP3s to disk so I dont need IPOD hook up. The later versions allow that though.
I posted a How To in the C5 Tech DIY sticky which will give an idea of whats involved to install it yourself. The console needs to come out. You'll also need the adaptor for the BOSE speakers (GMCRV2) and an antenna adaptor

I used to have the 1.5 din Pioneer one in my TA 9 years ago, sold it on Ebay many years ago.
When I tried to install it in the Vette I nver got any sound, I don't think the wiring exisited at that time because of the amps being in the doors or something like that. Where can I buy the harness to get the basic Pioneer above to work? I have a coupe with the antennea in the windshield
Help would be appreciated, I would by that head unit again.
