I would NOT paint them....Ive seen plenty of painted splash guards (note:NOT mudflaps) that soon begin chipping, exposing the black underneath...Looks like crap...
Ive also seen people paint their C5 Z-06 scoops...just like the splash guards, they soon begin to chip...

I'm on the fence about getting them myself but I think if I do I'll have them painted

If you paint them the inside has to get chipped, and if you leave the inside black wouldn't that look kind of funky?
I'd vote leave them black.
Sorry to hear those ducts are messed up so soon. Yours are the only way to go if you are going with the ducts.
Pics when done of course.

Paint them, otherwise they'll stick out like a sore thumb. If you have to use mud flaps you should make them as inconspicuous as possible

I think you should go with the ones with the naked lady silhouette.

I think you should let your smarter, cuter, better looking half make your decisions for you.

I think you should paint the outside and leave the inner side black or they will get chipped really easy.

If they are molded in to liik like they are an original part of the car I'd paint them.
If not leave em black.

My APSIS Splash Guards came in today.

The material they are made from looks very substantial, however; the surface finish has quite a few flaws that will need to be removed prior to installing. I am not sure there is a way to do this and restore the matte finish without showing sanding scratches? They look like they have been filled in spots with body filler that was not ever finished completely? My guess is that the molds were just not perfect and the parts transferred the imperfections? These could be easily sanded down and fixed if they were to be painted, but not sure they could be left in their raw form?

The way they are , they would not meet "show car" standards. They would be fine for most average street cars, but not quite up to Corvette standards IMO.

you should definately get either these or modify the OEM ones. they provide the finished look to the L5 flares.

i remember seeing apsis' thread showing them pictured on a car.

i also remember saying that they didn't look like they were finished, as they had many paint mismatches or whatnot.

apsis replied stating that those pics were not of the completed product and that the finished product would look better...i guess not.

at least you didn't buy the $800 carbon fiber ones!

Actually, I think the carbon fiber version might cover up these flaws? But in their raw state they have several imperfections on both sides. I looked closely at some factory splash guards on the new Z06 and saw nothing like what I am describing.
