I think that one is pretty tasteful in looks, but does it still cover the tag expiration sticker...?
But the beauty of this option is you can customize how you paint the border and still maintain the lines of the front of the car. I did this same thing except I painted the top portion straight across and left a bit more open area on the bottom - more than enough space to see the stickers. Just buy the factory paint in the aerosol at the dealer and it's a snap.
Well here in Ohio we have selective enforcement. Almost all of the police and troopers have real work to do and stopping someone for no front plate is ridiculous. One judge I know has told all of the departments in his jurisdiction no tickets for no front plates.
I had the misfortune of getting a ticket in one of our neighboring cities (Kettering) Two things. I bitched to the clerk and she told me that her husband just got one too and the lovely state of Ohio was paying for stepped up enforcement. I went on the court web site and was amazed to see that the state was getting over half of the money for the ticket. Lets face it the $$$$$$ rules.
I hear what your saying, but I can tell you that I do not work for the judge, I work for the Sheriff. I had a case about 2 years ago that the judge threw out for no reason so I appealed the case to the next higher court and won. Cops as well as the defense lawyers can appeal cases.
As far as pulling over cars with minor offenses (like no front plate or not wearing seatbelts) it's PC to get into the car. Some people (flaming liberals) don't like this but I have gotten lots of illegal drugs and guns of the street from traffic stops for minor things.
I know my job and have been doing it for a long time and I am very good at it. I don't just pick on people for the hell of it, I use the law (which I did not write) to my advantage to get the job done. If people do not like the law than work to change it. I only enforce the law I do not make it.

It might if we had them in Ontario but, for us anyway, they're on the rear plate. Plus, as I'm a nice guy, I would have tailored my artwork so that it would show, just as I did with the "Ontario". If I did one again it would show the saying "Yours to Discover". When the plate is looked at from dead-ahead and at plate level, those words cannot be seen at all.
How, EXACTLY, would that technology have stopped your friend's car from being stolen or recovered more quickly??
Secondly, I'm NOT a law breaking scum bag, and have absolutely nothing to hide, other than the front plate, of course. I just don't care for that level of intrusiveness into my life...
I dont think it would have prevented it from being stolen, but it certainly may have recovered it sooner...
As far as the level of intrusiveness, I dont get your argument....All the device does is compares your license plate (which is in "plain view") with a list of known stolen or wanted vehicles......In law enforcement, generally ANYTHING that is in "plain view" is fair game......It's not like it's using special technology to look inside your vehicle while it's parked...

Another option is the buy one of the painted factory type license plate surrounds from one of the vendors. I ran one on mine and it made it look much better.
This is the type front plate cover I use. I have a LeMans blue '04 and have a black surround.
I used the clear plastic cover for a while, but soap suds got behind the cover when I washed the car, and I didn't like that.
The surrounds do come in different body colors too.

OK, pull me over for it. Check my license and registration. But when everything comes back clean, and I have no drugs or guns on me, DON'T write the stupid ticket. Say something like, "I'm sorry for delaying you. I'm just doing my job, which I'm very good at by the way. Have a pleasant day!" How hard is that?
I've never had a front plate on any of my 3 corvettes. Shoot, I don't even have a front plate on my Ford Ranger, and I never will. Pull me over, give me a fixit ticket. Fine. I'll have one of my leo buddies sign it off and pay my $10, but I will not ruin my front fascia with a plate.
When purchasing may latest car, a missing front fascia was always a deal breaker.

and just to state again; getting pulled over usually doesn't get citizens RED HOT... it's the issuing of a payable citation that does.

You should just go with the factory trim plate. It seems the more you try to hide the front plate, the worse the solution is.
The black factory trim piece will blend right in, especially on a black car. I have the factory trim on my red Z06, and it looks fine with the other black trim on the car.

I am in ILL we have to run a plate I do but I run with the cover on and it is held on by Velcro . if stopped I say I was at a show and forgot to remove it . so far it has been OK with the cops . I have been on this forum for 7 years and I have come to believe that the majority of the members always run a front plate . never go over 55 and never ever spin there tires . the majority of the forum members here walk on water, pure saints . well not me no front plate 145 mph is my top speed on the road and I have had more then my share of street races . lets see how long this post lasts . come on guys tell the truth you didn't by a vette to go to church in it ..........J.M.H.O.
I just cant believe the complainers we have on this forum about front plates. In some States it is the LAW to have 2 plates on your car, putting a plate on the Corvette will not destroy the car or lower its value.
I cant believe you complainers are even running rear plates on your cars!
